Default Gavin Norrington aka (Kiwi L78)

I own a 67 L78 Camaro which is under going a bare metal full ground up ......very llllooonng rebuid

The car is equipped from the factory with the following;
4 speed (M21), Bench seat, black interior, Capri cream and a 4.56 ratio 12 bolt (factory ordered, not dealer optioned)
I have the original protecto plate and from this I have managed to track down and meet the original owner who still lives in Sth California.
The history of car is as follows; Built in California in May 67. Bought from Lange and Runkel by a Jerry Farquar (no joke I have meet the man). The intension was to street race the car, which I am lead to believe it spent some its 23K miles doing. In 69 the 396 destroyed itself and was replaced by a CE427. In 1970 Jerry had an accident which resulted in heavy front end damage. The car was then bought for parts (unknown), fortunately the diff remained with the car when the third owner bought it. He began collecting parts with the intension of restoring the car until I bought the it in 2005.

Because the car has not been on the road since 70 and has been in a relatively dry climate, there has been next to no modification and relatively (in comparison to other cars I have seen) little corrosion damage.

I have completed most of the major body repairs and the plan from here is to have the body painted this year. Then its a case of restoring and replacing and reassembling using as many original GM parts as possible.

Hopefully the above is of interest to the other members and I look forward to their comments and stories.

Regards Gavin
