Default Robert Carroll's L78 Story ORIGINAL OWNER

My 67 L78 Super Sport. I purchased this car from Hechler Chevy in Highland Springs VA. I was there when it rolled off the car carrier along with two other L78's and a Z/28. It wasn't wanted by many folks because of its radio delete (I had the dealer install a radio), 4:56 rear end ratio, no power steering or brakes. Its all original down to its spare tire. I did add the headers, hurst shifter to replace the junk GM shifter and super coil and a few little items. I terrorized the local streets and found little to match its performance. I collected a lot of trophies and money along the way. I lived near a drag strip so naturally I had to visit now and then. Mid to high 12 second passes at 112 normally. On street tires the low 13 passes were fun if the tires could take the punishment.
Now I spend time at the local cruise-ins and parades. I retired and I guess you might say, so did my car.
More later, stay tuned.
