I can't be the only guy who has encountered this issue.
Most of my old upper windshield clips are too rusty to use. So... I am at the friendly neighborhood body shop supply a few weeks ago and happen to see some clips on display. Brand is UFO or UFD. Looks like a match. Part number is 2009R. Guy looks it up and tells me, yes those are correct for 69 Camaro. Cool. Well, I get them home and start installing and notice they stick up above the roof line. Hmmm... if these stick upt then it follows that the trim will also stick up. Well, crap. So, check around and every one I talk to says that is the right clip. I am convinced it isn't, so I look on the Heartbeat City website. Surely Heartbeat Jimmy has the correct clip. Order three packages, because I need 32, as the rear window uses the same clips (more on that later). Yes, I know HBC is usually a bit higher and that he sources these from somewhere else, but NORMALLY, at least Jim will have the closest available if not dead on. It is worth it to me to not have to shop around. Try them out today, and they are also too big. Exact same product I got from the body shop supply. Is it too much to ask for clips that will locate the trim even with the body panel? My old clips are all yellow (well at least the part that isn't rusted). I am looking through my old parts stash and find an unused clip with old yellow paint on it, so I am thinking GM color coded these. Have no idea where I got it, but unfortuantely, I have one; not 32. I compare it with the new ones and my originals, and not surprisingly, it looks to be exactly the size of my originals. BTW, most vendors say the rear window uses a different clip. Not so on my 08A 69 Camaro. I know for certain they were all the same because I saved them. Below are pics front and rear of the old and the new. I BELIEVE I finally found the correct clips here: http://www.wdshopsupply.com/gm_mould...atherstrip.htm It is about 7/8 of the way down the page and is listed as: part number FC9546 Windshield & Rear Window Reveal Moulding Clips G.M. # 7693140, GM# 8736586, 50 Pcs Only problem is, I can't confirm those GM numbers. Found one source that said the 7693140 was for a 69 Camaro Converitible. Those don't look at all like the ones that the vendors showw for Verts. Still, sure looks correct. BTW, the one in the pic just above that looks like the ones I got from the BSS and HBC. Will try and order tomorrow. If someone has a better idea, I am all ears. Good news is I have all the side glass in the car.

Lynn,
Here are the two different ones which came out of the 10D EARLY 69 Z I am finishing up now. Yellow were for the rear glass and the blue for the front.

Interesting.
Mine had the yellow ones front and rear. The car had never been painted. Yours are in much nicer shape than mine. The yellow one I pictured above is one of the nicest ones. Most are rusted too badly to-re use.

OK, got the clips from these guys.
http://www.shop-supplies.com/moulding_retainers.php Part number FC9546 Box of 50 for $8.85. Below are pics. Instead of painted, they are cad plated. Less then .002 inch difference in the thickness of the metal. More importantly, they are dead on for the height. Both the original and the cad plated ones are .650 inch high. The UFO brand and the ones I got from the classic car vendors are all .737 inch high. Using the .737 clips will result in the molding sticking up above the panel almost .090". Simply not acceptable. You can see the difference in the pic below. One of my originals in the middle, new cad plated one on the right, and the other two (one UFO and one from a vendor) on the left and left upper.
