Bill Rose would be the guy to talk to about this. I know he has a picture of a survivor car in his area that he used for a reference for his own 68 chevelle ss

Actually, different plants used different methods, for masking off the 68 SS-396 Chevelle door jambs. I've seen originals that were done 3 different ways. Mine is an Atlanta built Chevelle. I'm not 100% sure how each plant did it, but I do know they weren't all the same.

Which was is most excepted? I asked the owner if he knew which plant and he responded California. I will be looking at the car wednesday afternoon and hope to paint the lower on friday. So any help is appreciated. I seen on RK Motors there was 3 cars and 2 different methods, not sure what is right. The car I will be doing is red with a white top and white side stripe with red guts. Sounds pretty neat. Can't wait to see it.
Thanks,
Joe
