My 72 Nova has been dissasembled for a few years now and need to know about the brackets that are welded to the cowl under the A pllar area. They look like the brackets that screw to the cowl to hold under the windshield. Are the ones that are welded also windshield supports? My body guy thought maybe the upper back side of the fender sat on top of them. Or does the fender sit below them. Any help would be appreciated.

The welded supports are for the windshield. The fender backs up to those supports on the cowl so you can't move the fender back any farther and hit the windshield with edge of the fender.
