Need 400 SB and BB info

Over at v8Buick.com, someone is talking about a 330 hp small block 400. He even shows it in a manual. I think it's a typo, as the 400/330 was the 402 in 1970.

Can any of you folks help show me I'm right . . . or wrong?

Yes, it is the 402 big block engine. Chevrolet called it the "400". Malibu got the 400 emblems as well as Chevrolet trucks. Not sure about other Chevrolet vehicles.

Chevy did make a small block 400....not sure of the first year, but it was definitely post 69. It was externally balanced, like the 454.

the 400 small block was 70-76(pass car apps, used later in trucks til 8?) never rated at more than 265hp. 4bbl used only 74-76

my question is, were the 400 fender emblems used on both small and big block Chevelles and wagons in 1970?

or, 70 Chevelle 402BB got the 396 label, right?

I think it got 400 badges. However, I wonder what the air cleaner decal said?

If I recall - if it was an SS then it received SS396 badges on the fender and 396 decal on air cleaner lid (L34? or L78 engine), if it was not an SS it received Malibu 400 badges on fender and there is some debate on what the air cleaner lid decal - if any - was since it was a different engine (LS3 engine).
