Default Air compressor help

Having a ton of problems wiht my current air compressor. It is 3 years old and has been repaired 4 times already,( all head gasket related resulting in a pump replacement) and I think 5 is here as well!..been having sporadic issues with fish eys in paint and primer I have been spraying..no water in the filters but oil..seems my entire air system is now full of oil! ..enough that it is laying on the bottom of the hose and it wets your finger!..hose smells like oil. Compressor runs and operates normally..oil level is mid mark as it always has been...any ideas??..before I call for a non-warranty service call.

thanks

Albert

I recently got rid of my old IR 5HP 80 gallon upright, and it had the same model compressor on it. I ran that thing to death for ~5 years(?) and it never gave me any trouble, it just got to the point where it couldn't keep up with my blast cabinet anymore.

What are you using for a filter/separator?

Albert - just because you are out of warranty, don't assume the dealer isn't on the hook to fix your compressor at no charge. You have a long trail of issues that should shame the dealer to work with the manufacturer (IR) and get it repaired right or replaced. Ask him to contact the manufacturer and get a dialogue going with them. You might be surprised. Good luck and keep us posted.
