hello guys. I have a april built ls6, its a 4 speed car with a console. my question is, do all the console cars have the shift slide or was it a early thing, i added it to my car thinking it was missing, now i have my doubts. my car is original an unrestored. thanx in advance, Jim

I personally do not think any 70 Chevelle had the slide insert in the console. 68's and 69's yes, 70's no. Chris |

If a 70 Chevelle did have it originally,it would have to be a very early assembly.
I think it was removed sometime around June of 69. I have only seen 4 1970 restored Chevelles with it,and each owner admits they installed it,as the reproduction parts retailers told them they should,but I have yet to see an unrestored 70 holding one. |

thanx for the info guys. i am the second owner, bought car over 20 yrs. ago, thought it was missing so i added it. as i learned about the car i thought it wasn't supposed to be there but wasn't sure. original owner since passed away.
