I recently acquired some vintage wide oval raised white letter tires. There are four tires total. 2 are F70-14 and 2 are D70-14. They are in awesome shape. I am wondering what the original application of these tires is. I know the F70s were used on quite a few muscle cars. What about the D70s? I am trying to see if I have an application for these or if they need to be passed on to the next guy.
Thanks, Jason |

A few have asked me what style these tires are. Rather than try to explain it I figured I'd post a few quick pictures. Please let me know if you know what the original application to either pair of tires is.
Thanks, Jason ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Those are 1970, possibly later.

Thanks, that is what I thought. I thought this style was used on 70 Camaros and Chevelles, maybe Novas. I do not have any of those. I do have a 69 Ranchero GT and thought they might look the part on that car.
Thanks, Jason |

I seem to recall seeing D70x14 on 67 Camaro SS396 cars.

I think those are redline Firestone wide ovals. Like I said, I've had a hard time finding factory applications for tires. Maybe I am looking in the wrong areas.
