Default Dates and availability of chambered exhaust option

This is probably a topic that has been discussed many times, but does anyone have the definitive answer to when GM officially stopped installing chambered exhaust on 1969 Camaros built for US sale? I have an 05C bb pace car that has documented chambered exhaust from the factory, but it is an export (Canadian) car. It is my understanding that Chevrolet stopped installing US Camaro chambered in early 1969 - after prompting from DOT. Can anyone add insight or direct me to a previous thread on the subject? Thanks, Bruce

Page 37 and 38 of Jerry's book. Deleted from "standard" production on November 25th of 68. Deleted from production "altogether" on May 19th of 69.

Thanks Sam - Does anyone know what "standard production" means? I know that US production was discontinued at some point - is that "standard production"? Also, interesting to note the my car was shipped on the day that all production of chambered option was discontinued (attached). Regards, Bruce

Oops! I see that Jerry indicates that the chambered system was still an available "option" where it was allowed after 11/68. So the question is where it was allowed - this is probably anybodies guess!

I thought it was pretty much left up to the jurisdiction of each municipality, which was why Chevrolet pulled it's availability in the first place.
Too many complaints/violations so most prohibited it,but some did not.

The Bulliten reads as though the chambered exhaust was standard equipment on certain models with the higher performance engines and continued to be optional after the bulliten date. Am I reading this right?

Standard on Z28 until November optional thereafter, optional on big blocks until May.
