my Camaro I have had it for over 6 years now and I have enjoyed every day of it. When I got it {I found it in a barn} it had only 26000 miles on the clock, this is how the story goes. The guy that had got it from new had drivin around in it for a year or two then with the fuel prices going up and up he made up his mind to go drag racing so he pulled the car of the road and started building the car to go fast, anyway in the 80s he gave up and gave it to a friend to get it done and after his friend had finish the job it sat in his workshop for about 10 years and that is were my mate found it and bought and got it back to New Zealand were he raced it for two years when he got under the 10s he gave up and parked it in his barn and left it there I knew he had

for a number of years but he would not sell it but about 6 years ago he gave in and I got it, it did not have the big block in it that had done the quick times so we built a good small block and put that in and that where we were up to Xmass time and I got bored so I made it in to a CHAPARRAL CAMARO rep. I guess I have aways like the TRANS-AM racing and this way I can walk into my shed and there it is my very own trans-am car.
.oh by the way she has only got 27500 mile on the clock now

750 HOLLY CARB,
TEAM G MANAFOLD,
BOWTIE HEADS,
CRAN GOLD ROLLER ROCKERS,
FORGE PISTONS,
HIGH FOLW OIL PUMP,
CARTER FUEL PUMP,
3500 STILL,
400T TRANS WITH A FULL MANUAL VALVE BODY,
CUSTOM DRIVE SHAFT,
DANA 60 LSD (FROM A BIG BLOCK HEMI) WITH 4,11 RICHMEN GEARS,
NEW KONI SHOCKS,
FULL ROLLCAGE,
LOTS AND LOTS OF SPARES.

THIS CAMARO HAS BEEN IN NZ FOR OVER 10 YEARS. AS A RACE CAR IT HAS BEEN 9.7 ON THE 1/4 MILE WHEN IT HAD THE 454 IN IT.

Neat Camaro! Welcome to the site.

Does your front license plate say "I'm Scum"?

Hey Bryan.

Welcome aboard! Cool Camaro you have there. Bet you don't see too many like it down your way. We have been needin' some more car guys from the other hemisphere to help balance us out. Appreciate it!

Welcome to the site Bryan. Very nice looking Camaro you have there. About 6 yrs ago I got a real appreciation of how much it costs for New Zealanders to own and maintain an old American car. I sold a whole bunch of spare parts from a 69 Impala convertible to a guy in New Zealand who was restoring a RHD 70 Impala convertible. One of the items he bought from me was an entire convertible top frame - which as you can imagine is very large and heavy. He paid a shipping company in the Chicago area a whole lot of money to construct a shipping crate to hold the top frame and all the other parts, and then had to pay to ship it all to NZ via San Francisco

It dose cost a lot for us down here but we love it, about 6 months I bought a Chev Suburban (900$ usd) by the time I got to my place in Auckland it had cost me 8000$ nzd the wife was not very happy but I do love to drive it just something about a big car .
The Z28 by the way is a gen Z28 and not a rep.
