Pavilions news...
They are starting up on a trial run on May 15th, limited to 75 cars (all have to be pre-registered). Still not sure about limiting the crowds, but I guess we'll see.
The show will run from 8am until noon.

About time, lol. I was talking to Cynthia and from what I understood they are giving her a hard time about insurance. Apparently they let the insurance lapse?
Either way nice to finally get this rolling since the restrictions were lifted months ago. Unfortunately I'll have to wait until they open full swing. I'm not driving 200 miles for 75 cars at a cruise that I have to register for. The time slot sucks too. 8-noon? Who cruises at those times? lol. Thanks for the update Bruce. Hopefully they quickly transition to full capacity with normal cruise times and I'll catch you guys down there |

x2. That's the 'Cars & Coffee' crowd, not what the Pavillions normally caters to.

We have about 6 cars and coffee get togethers up here to choose from already every weekend and even a couple during the week. I'm sure Phoenix has plenty too. Not sure how that got popular as I grew up with cruising in the evenings so my brain is pretty much engraved with that thought process.
Going to be difficult for Pavs to pull that off in my eyes considering what it once was and how long it occurred. The whole attraction to the Pavs for the long haulers like myself and many others up here from the Prescott area that come down, was the large crowd, the late Saturday night relaxed evening vibe, in a perfect area with a lot of parking and plenty of food options. Was always great to swing in there in the evenings and hang after a big car event too like Barret Jackson and Goodguys for instance. But I saw the writing on the wall when they started trying to make everyone leave by 7pm or what ever that was. Driving 4 hours round trip to be told to leave at noon isn't too attractive for me, plus I don't think anyone wants to be down there at noon in the middle of summer. I always enjoyed 4-5pm as the sun starts going down and the temps cooling off as it got dark, even though I'm driving down at 2pm-3pm right in the peak heat of the day. I'd be willing to bet if this goes on into June and further most everyone will scatter by 10am thanks to the heat. Fingers crossed though that this gets things rolling and it gets back to normal. That cruise is what put that McDonalds on the radar. |

Apparently the Indian tribe that owns is dictating what can happen. Car in every other spot. Early morning shows for now. They are doing as much as the tribe will allow. I did three car deals in Scottsdale Sat. There is plenty going on. Scuderia, Mixteca, High Street.

You're right, there is always plenty going on every weekend. I've been going over to 67th and Bell when I can.

Not to mention the "Quarantine Cruise" that's been going on for a year now. They've been pulling in around two thousand cars each time!!
It's a once a month cruise with anything you can imagine participating!! And we're talking CALIFORNIA!!
