I want to send my belts off next week for new webbing and would like to confirm what is correct, I have what appears to be back seat belts in the front??? or they may be correct just want to make sure before sending them off.

You might be waiting for a while. I've never seen a 67 without front retractors. I've heard that statement a few times (that the car didn't have them) and after reviewing the belt codes, the car had rears in the fronts (and no rears ).

That is the Million dollar question,

My car is a 11B-November 66 car and have been told early cars did not have retractors??, and at the dealer you could purchase the chrome Doo-Hicky Winder up holder for the belt so it would not be just thrown on the floor, here is the unit, I cant seem to get a clear answer for sure if they really never had retractors??????

Thnx for the feedback, Bud.

Guess what. Mine 67 RS doesn't have retractors... and yes it has the chrome doohicky. I am 100% sure they are the original belts.

The seatbelts are model 47 with a C 66 date code on them. I have the deluxe interior with the deluxe belts.

My belts have this cover on the end where it mounts to the car, its like a rubberized sleave that covers the bolt. I couldn't get an accurate measurement with the chrome retractor doohicky and my belts are kind of ravled so I don't really want to take the doohicky off, but it is approximately 19-1/2 inches from the points you show and 20-1/2 inches from the mount point at the top to the bottom end.

If you need a more accurate measurement and pics, let me know.

ok,Jeff what is your build date??? looks like your belts were built Mid November, what is the model number on them, are they by chance "Model-120" and are they Hammills??? or???

and if you could post a couple pics with the belt retracted and pulled out I would appreciate it, also does the rubber cover look like the one used on the '69 inside front belts, it covers the mounting bolts, maybe a pic of that critter also, This is the first I have heard of the bolt cover on a '67 you really have my attention now!

Also I looked in Ricks Catalog and it shows the chrome retractors and a mention of its use on early cars, the next question where is the break in early cars??? and later cars with the plastic retractors???.

Thnx Bud.

I've got the build info at home, so I'll check later tonight. Yes the rubber boot is like the inside one on the 69's. They're definitely not rear belts placed in front. I have two 67 Camaros both originally with Deluxe gold interior. I'm restifying the other car and changing the interior to black. I pulled the rear belts out of it recently and they are not the same.

I'm 100% sure the belts on the RS are original. Its a documented 2 owner car (prior to me) and its dead stock, although the previous owner did replace the seat covers and door panels because they were fading.

One thing to also note, the console doesn't have the clips for "resting" inside belts. Nor are there any holes from where they might have been.

I took this pic a while ago, but you can just make out the belt retracted.
