Default Red/Red 1967 L-88

The Red/Red 1967 L-88 that Ray Norvell sold back in 1994 was something special indeed. This one was used, not parked and hidden away. The L-88 was ordered by a Pontiac executive for his teen-age son and delivered to Birmingham Michigan. Years later with the orig. motor gone the 3rd owner was not sure what kind of Corvette he had purchased. It turned out to be a factory L-88 missing the aluminum head motor. The fifth owner Ray Norvell had the Corvette restored by Ken and Gary Nabers. However the motor was not stamped with "matching numbers" and when shown it was only "Silver certified" with 99+ points. A couple of the interesting options on this car were "shoulder harness system" and a set of 4.56:1 gears! There was little else besides the L-88 option. Black wall tires, no side pipes or bolt on wheels; this Corvette was all business. While this Red/Red color combination screams "look at me" it is the sound of the engine that will hold your attention. What price glory? The window sticker was only $6021.15 back in 1967; when even a "Pontiac man" knew the value of a Chevrolet.
