Possible 1969 L-88 Motor
Not connected to the sale at all, just wanted to get it out to the community in case anyone knows the car owner. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...2111112l%22%7D

That could be, just found it interesting that he indicated he had tracked the car down at one point. |

There is a phone number from the 1984 ad.
901-365-2767. Might be in the newspaper archive seeing that the car had fresh paint interior and new soft top. Was probably advertised more than this one ad. Last edited by GMC_Typhoon; 08-15-2023 at 10:56 PM. Reason: Wrong phone number |

Here's a picture of the block stamp. A friend WAS contemplating the purchase. His NCRS connections told him the VIN is for a March 69 build date car, but the block is stamped November 68. He's a hard pass on it.

Thanks John for the additional info. Any time I come across something like this ad, I pass it along on the off chance that someone knows the car, etc. and the possibility of reuniting a car and its original motor. This group always seems to be able to track things down and provide additional info!

A spread like that may not be the kiss of death for an L88. It may have sat around for a few months.

Heck, my April '92 Pete had a November '89 3406B Cat engine in it... from the factory with the VIN stamp on it...
