Default Day 2 Question

I'm going to start the process of converting my '68 Z/28 from Resto Mod to Day 2.

I have an idea of what I'm going to do with rims, air cleaner, traction bars. etc..

My question is hoses. The car has the braded hoses with the red and blue fittings. I'm guessing this is not Day 2 and rubber hoses are the correct look? One other question, is there a big difference in the Cragars that are new vs. the period correct?

This is a street car so if it's not perfect, I will be ok. Just trying to get close.

Thanks, Jason

Stainless steel braided hose was around in the early 70's on street cars but not common.

Trend took of around 1977-1978 when Earls and Aeroquip among other co's started adverstising in CC, PHR and Hot Rod

Got any pics of your car now?

I've got an old '68 Camaro as well that is totally Day 2 or 3, but needs new rims (has A/R 16 Torque Thrusts) that eventually need changed.

I like these '68s a lot:

Nice!!
Especially like the rear tires, how the sidewalls bulge out(not sure of correct term).
Questions, how is this achived with let's say a G60-15 tire? What size wheel should be used?
Maybe this is a dumb question but I would like to get that look for my build, looks assume!!!
Thanks

Those are 15 x10 Cragars with 3.75 BS and N50 tires 11/3/4-12" wide 27.50-28 tall depending on tire brand. G60-15 max rim would be 8" wide and I think those tires are 26" tall.
Silver camaro = 15 x 8.50 with L60-15's>28" tall

IMO g60's are just too small for 67-69 Camaros.

Thanks guys.

Yes, that's the look I'm going for. Yes, here's a few pics. I like the fly eye air cleaner and I want some old school M/T valve covers

What size are your current AR wheels?

I'm aiming for a set of Cragar S/S wheels, but eventually I will totally have a set of aluminum slots like the ones above because the more I see of them, the more they just "fit" the car.

Hi Mark,

16"'s 8" in the front and 9" in the rear I believe.

Going with Cragar but I'm not sure what size. Like the look of both your cars.
