Need help please. I've got an original unrestored cowl induction air cleaner that I'm quiet sure came off a 71 454 car. The only thing thats throwing me off is a green stamped date on the inside(air filter area)that's dated 8/9/70. I'm going to sell the unit and want to confirm that as far as the decal goes is it 71 only? I'm aware that actual fit/function I think will work on 70-72 cowl induction cars but due to the survivor shape I think it's worth more for the correct application. Any idea what a fair price would be? Thanks in advance.

Yes,it's part #6485236,from a 1971 SS LS-5 Chevelle,as the stamped date of Aug.19th,1970 is the start of 1971 production.
It's the same cowl Ind. air cleaner housing used on the 1972 BB LS-5 Chevelle too,but the 454HP rating decal was different, showing only 270HP then. And because it's got the Thermac on the snorkle and the 365 HP rating, exclude titling it as a 1970 Chevelle,as they didn't have that in '70. Honestly don't know what someone with this car would pay today. |

Thanks for confirming the application. I truely don't know what to ask and as bad as I hate to I guess I'll put it on eBay. Thanks again Mr.70 for responding, I appreciate the info.
