I ran across this supposed award winning, hands down finest example, etc. car listed on eBay. The owner claims that Jerry has been over the car inside and out and the car is all they say it is having been an award winning car for years.
My problem is this. The owner states " EACH AND EVERY NUMBER AND DATE MATCHES FROM BUMPER TO BUMPER" but in the photo of the rear it is clear that the car now has a "BE" coded rear in it. I emailed the seller to ask about this but never got a reply. Either this seller is talking more than he has knowledge to do or he slipped in a picture of the stamping from another car. Regardless, that stamping appears pretty good and he may have a COPO rear housing under that car. The gearing is said to be a 3:08 so I would assume the hardened gears and carrier are gone. What is your opinion on this one? |

Most likely it is a PE axle; 3.08 10-bolt.

Neat car. Like the dusk blue paint. Anyone notice how the spare tire is secured in the trunk? Comments?

Was the D80 option included in the Style Trim group, or was it added later?

I thought small block engines were built in Michigan having a V for the first letter of the assy stamp and T was normally for big blocks.

Tonowanda built small blocks as well, mostly low performance.
