Default BIG BLOCK PRODUCTION ENDS AFTER 51 YEARS

The last Rat Motor rolled off the line this week at the Tonawanda, NY engine plant, ending the run of one of the best engines ever designed and built by any automobile manufacturer in history. Unless messed around with or driven by an idiot, the big block was dead reliable and nearly impossible to break. It ends an era and for some of us is a sad passing. Thanks for the fun, Big Fella.

A sad day. I just went down to the garage after reading this post and ran my fingers over the "T0417CRR" on the engine block. That plant made some great engines for some incredible drivers in fast cars.
