Default 1969 Chevelle Yenko vin#136379B356713

I'm looking to reunite the original engine (I have the original block, heads and crank) with the original Chevelle Yenko. I'm not looking to buy the car I'm looking to get the engine back into the original car for a minimal expense to the owner. I have title info thru 74 and Ed C has it listed as a known Yenko in his list of Yenko Chevelles. Please email [email protected] or PM if you own or know of the owner -

Thanks in advance - its about time this found it's original home

This engine was on EBaY several years ago, Chuck in CT bought it. It was found in the back of a machine shop after the shop was being closed down. I've done the title work on the car back to 3/13/74 that you referenced, but to my knowledge the car has not been found. I've driven to the last known address for the car, nobody in the general area or town recalls the car.

This car is listed on the inventory sheets as being sold from Marshall Chev. in Reading, PA - but very well might have been a dealer transfer or a typo because I believe it was actually sold from Stauffer Chev. in Scranton, Pa.

The Engine surfaced in a shop clean out around 2000. Jack got the engine from the shop owner who stated the engine was "from a red 69 out of Yenko - a 4 speed with a black top" The shop owner at the time still thought the car was stashed in the Wilkes-Barre PA area supposedly with a 454. I have yet to unearth anything that would lend truth to the car being in that area. The rest of the story was "the red Chevelle" was raced back in the early 70's running the qtr mile at the old Pocono Drag Lodge in Bear Creek PA. Jack put the engine on Ebay in 2003 after 3 years of searching.

That story sounds about right, it was indeed a garnet red car. It was last registered in '74 in Shenendoah, PA - a very unique little town!

Ha Shenendoah is somewhat of a ghost town! Been in that area quite a bit. LOL A lot of cars in that area. Stashed away.

It's a unique little town in nowhereville, but with a sort of 'transient' population. Turns out there is a large prison closeby, and friends/relatives of the inmates tend to move in/out of the area based on the terms.... Not what I expected from an old mining town!

This is sort of ironic -- same Town -Shenendoah, PA, however who ever posted the add, even having the car decal "Yenko", they still spelled it wrong -- LOL
