Default Triangular "fly-eye" air cleaner ELEMENT source

I am looking for a replacement element. I can post photos of my original (old) one tonight.

Thanks!

I'd like to buy just the foam for my round fly-eye. Looks like your piece has the frame built into it.

Thanks Bud/Darren!

Darren - no the frame is NOT built in. It just appears that way in photo - frame is separate unit (plastic).

On a side note What would you think about placing a piece of aramid (nomex) material such as is found in fire proof clothing, on the underside of the foam element (between the foam and the plastic skeleton a/c frame). If the carb back-fires, the aramid material would prevent the fire from reaching foam and perhaps from melting it? Aramid material (military uses it in flight suits) is good for flash-fire protection (i.e. short duration) up to a certain temp (can't recall max temp.) and does not melt.

I picked up my triangular foam filter at Autozone at lunch (Edelbrock part # 1099). It was basically a triangle-shaped piece of foam for $10.99! My old one is formed (see above photo) whereas the Edelbrock filter is flat. The Edelbrock filter looks too big also, but I should be able to cut it to size.

Edelbrock part #1099.......price $10.99

If they raise the price, do they have to change the part number?
