Default LA Car guys - primers, paint, and finishes?

Posted this over at camaros.net...no luck...

In process of restoring my 69 BB Camaro. It's a 12C build of 68. It's an LA car. I have read (over and over and over) all the post on this topic (CRG, etc) - but it seems everyone caveats their reply with "....Norwood car..."

If I've missed a link, and LA cars have been discussed, please point me in the right direction. If not, can you guys help? Car goes into paint booth next week. My goal is to be as original as possible and we want to create as authentic restoration as achievable.

Q1. Did LA use the same sealer color as NOR (black?)

Q2. What color primer was used inside the car, and under the car?

Q3. Were LA cars "squirted" with color using the same process as NOR cars? I.e., at waist level producing the same "overspray effect" as a NOR car?

Q4. NOR cars got a shot of undercoating in the rear (and front?) wheel wells. Did LA cars as well, or was that a "regional" plant process?

Q5. Was any "semi-gloss" paint used on any part of the final paint other than the Firewall, and the rear Black out panel?

Q6. Are there any other deviations that are unique to LOS car wrt assembly/paint process.

I have a low mile 1B '69 built LA car and it has a number of differences compared to Norwood. The biggest difference seems to be the amount of primer applied to the body. On the underside of the package tray area it is not bare like Norwood cars, it almost looks dipped because of the almost complete coverage, dk grey/black. The underbody is completely dk grey/black with body color overspray like Norwood. The firewall is competely low gloss black (top too) for my black striped Z28.
The trunk paint is not as fish-eyed looking as Norwood cars, its more long strings of the lighter color in the trunk paint mix.
A lot of variation in both plants thats for sure. Different jack base (no U69) is also original to my car. There must have been different suppliers for some parts.

Mark:
Great info! Hard to find good (AKA reliable) data on the LOS cars.

You have a PM.
