Default 1970 Torino 429 Super CJ Drag Pack

A friend has been offered a 1970 SCJ drag pack as part of a business deal.

Supposedly original and correct ( obviously will need to be verified and documented)
C6 , iron tail
4.30 locker
Oil cooler

My question, assuming this car is a numbers car in good to excellent condition, what neighbor hood of money do they trade in.

I realize I have given little to go on but just would like to get an idea if this is a sought after car or falls into the "yeah cool but no one wants it" category.
Thanks for any info.

Hello Gerry,

Welcome to the site. I have always been a fan of the '70 Torino body style. Very nice look right up there with the other mid-size muscle of the day. Fine fannys on these cars! Am not expert and have never owned one. My casual observations on these cars are that they get no where near the attention or dollars as other comparable cars from the era. Truly believe these are one of the few remaining bargains out there. Perhaps some of our FoMoCo afficionados will chime in. Color is also a driver. Check with Marti to verify the car. You just need a VIN and they can turn around a report in very short order for you. Very nice personable folks. Post some pictures if you can. I looked in "Sports Car Market" and found no profile on the SCJ Torino. BJ Auction results revealed a couple of hits such as an orange '70 CJ (370 hp) that sold for $60.5K this year. Another orange J code that sold for $52,380 in 2005. In '03, what appears to be an SCJ w/ 4 spd + hideaways sold for $29.7K.

Man, these cars look good w or w/o hideaways.

Cool ride
Good luck.

I think we need to determine what kind of Torino we're talking about first, and whether it had ram air or not. Those two factors will determine the value, but not by much.
