I want to restore a pair of original Motion Performance sbc Valve covers. They're in good-fair shape with the regular discoloring, blemishes and pitting. One small chip about 1/4 inch on one of the fins.
I really like the looks of Caleb Arone's M/T valve covers on his '69 COPO Camaro. If I remember correctly, Brian H. said he chromed the covers and they came out surprisingly well. Is chrome a good application for a driver car? Is it durable when subjected to rapid heating and then cooling? What other techniques work well too? Any good chrome shops around? Thanks guys! -Dan

Do you have a number for either? Have you had positive experiences with both places; can you provide pictures of their work?
Thanks! ![]()

You have to be careful which plater you use, most will not waaranty chrome plated aluminum, especially valve covers. SULLY

Then maybe the answer to this issue would be to Aluminum plate the valve covers?
Will they look like chrome? How about durability wise? Do people even do that?
