Check your registration/title/ownership

It may have been mentioned before but lately we get many requests for build sheets but the VIN is wrong either on the title/registration/ownership/insurance certificate as compared to the vin plate on the car. Don't assume that they are correct, check that they match. It usually involves a lawyer to get your paperwork corrected if it is wrong, but worse if it turns out you do not own the vehicle that is in your driveway. For your own peace of mind, make sure they match, everyone will be a little happier.

I learned my lesson a couple yrs ago. Bought a 69 Chevelle SS ragtop with an Illinios title. Several months later dragged it to the Arizona DMV to change the title. My jaw hit the ground when the DMV compared the VIN on the car to the title and said it doesn't match. A big oh #$*& was going thru my mind when she said the missing numeral on the title was the convertible designator. She said I can see it is a convertible so there is no problem. What a relief, I was imagining how difficult it was going to be to fix.
