Default Approximate value

I am wondering what the going rate is for a 1972 Corvette: 4-spd, 454. Numbers matching car? I know the description is kind of vague but I don't have too many details. Just want to get an idea of what I should be looking to spend.

A friend sold a red/red 4 speed air roadster with all options aside from vinyl top for high 40's recently. This was a Top Flight car with a weak paint job but lots going for it and lots of paperwork. Coupe will be lots less, air will be lots less. More information is needed to make an educated "guess". It could be $20,000 or it could be $40,000.

I just looked at an all original 40,000 mile LS5 convertible for 35K.

Let me try and copy the Ebay ad for more details.

Beautiful Targa Blue T-Top Corvette. 84,000 approximate original miles. Blue interior with am/fm stereo, power windows and locks, new (not original to the car) power steering, power brakes with a 4 speed transmission. 454 Big block engine that has been serviced and is running excellent. Car was bought approximately 3 years ago. It was advertised as a strong number 2 car, still is. Problem was when we bought the car it needed work to the front suspension to be a #2 car. All that work was done by a Corvette specialist. All receipts have been kept and are available. Some of the work that was done: All new shocks, springs, steering box, tie rod ends, sleeves, idler arm, belts, control arms, ball joints trailing arms. Upper and lower hoses, rotor, cap, wires, points.Car has new tires and battery as well. Transmission was completely rebuilt, M20, at a cost of $1,300.00. All of the front end work cost almost $5,000.00 to complete, its done and done right. Codes on the car door identification read, trim 412 and paint 979. This car is beautiful and drives excellent; it has some of the best paint I have ever seen on a car. Stunning. All the chrome is perfect and shines like new. Corvette specialist is available to speak to anyone interested in this car. There are a couple things that you should be aware of: Scratch in windshield that can be polished out, windows go up until about a quarter of an inch from the top with the doors closed. Open the doors and they go all the way up. Car is available for shipping but at the winning bidders research and expense. I would prefer local pick up as the car is too beautiful to put even in an enclosed tractor trailer. Please call me with any questions you may have before bidding on the Corvette (732) 562-3369 (Jeff). I would recommend anyone who buys a car to inspect it before purchase. This car does not need it but I do not want dead beat bidders claiming anything was hidden on this car. I have not hidden a thing and the car is true to the description. I am a private owner and not a dealer.
