Default Nostalgia event at KCIR

The weekend of June 4rd, KCIR is hosting a nostalgia drag racing/show event. For many years, this event was held at the old St. Louis (Mid-America) track in Wentzville, MO, but they are not open this year, thus the event will be held in Kansas City. One of the arrtactions is the the "Kansas City Timing Asssociation" will be celebrating their 50th anniversary. Also, on Saturday evening, many of the cars will be cruising to the local Fuddruckers, and I have heard that the local police have agreed to allow cars to run open headers. Hum...

As you can see on the flyer, I will be there with the '68 funny car. Should be a lot of un. Who else is going?

Looks like I be there. If you are looking at running down the track they have done a very nice job with it. Last year was the first year for the new 330' concrete launch pad and new asphalt out the back end. You do have to find your brakes or you could go into the creek on the back end!

I plan on attending, I have only dreamed of running on this track. Never knew it was still in operation, until I got a call from Harry K., who will have his Nova racecar there.

John will be coming with and will have his DHPC Demo SuperCamaro. Can't wait to see who gets a ride in it. I may need to call LaHarpe, maybe I can convince Herb, as I am sure he would have a good time.

Let's see, so far I have ran at or been on Beardstown, St. Louis, WhiteHall, Wentzville, and now KCIR. What a great time this hobby has become. Maybe Keokuk, Alton, Detroit, Bristol, Lions, Greenvalley are next?

Okay, next question. Who is going to be racing and who will be sitting in the car show on Saturday?

I will be sitting, however, I understand there will be a parade lap, and some exibition runs by Tom, myself, and I imagine others. I think there is a chance the Leatherman's may be there with their car? Wonder if Ray M. has heard about this? Ray, are you reading this?
