Default LA built 1969 Pace Car Block VIN location

396 car with TO311JB on front tab (396/325HP) but no vin? Checked by oil filter and don't see vin their either. Any ideas on where it might be? Want to make sure it is numbers matching. By the way, it is an LA built car w/o Z-11, but does have 50A Paint and 720 interior. HELP!

That is a Manual Trans. application for a 69 L-35 Camaro.
What's the casting date on that block?
What's the cowl tag build date?

LA cars did not have Z11 on the trim plate, the interior and exterior codes declare it a true pace car (50A & 720) and the LA cars were included in the pace car totals.

Hi! My VIN is too located down by the oil filter area of the block. It is faint on the stampings but the last 7 digits are clearly visible and readable! I will have to get to the block to tell you my pad #s but there is NO VIN text on the top passenger side pad area; just the TOxxxJB...

I had a '69 LA pace car as well. An L35, TH400, with protect-o-plate/pamphlet for documentation. The vin was stamped down on the flat boss by the oil filter, hard to read with rough block texture.

I have seen a couple of VanNuys Big blocks over the years which had no VIN stamped on them, probably just an oversight at the factory.

I hardly doubt it was an oversight; To me, I think it was a matter of keeping up with the supply order thru Corporate to deliver these and getting them thru must have been a challenge then. To me, they were assembled alike the VN Z28s Ive seen and I know of some very similar markings VN did that crossed over into the Z11 order alike the Z28 orders....The VIN thing on BB Z11 VN cars is odd but doc'd as such....Of the 10 I saw about 8 were like this on the lower side oil filter area!
