Checked over at my shop today about the fan. I have a 5 blade with the large center hole, 4 bolt holes, approx 17 1/4" wide. Each blade has "5" rivets not 4. Checked my other 5 blade BB fans and they all have 5 rivets. This fan has a "W" and "H" stamped on the back side, front side says "front". This is obviously a blade for a clutch fan. My understanding is the 68 L78 engines in the Nova and Camaro all got the clutch style fan, but I think it had 7 blades. I have a repro clutch fan setup for my 68 BB car and it has 7 blades. Not 100% sure so others may want to comment and add their input. If you think this fan might help you, let me know.

Tom

Tom, I have a SIX blade fan here. Each blade is stamped 914087 D70 (April 1970) with 3947772 BELOW (the first #'s)
What is your take on the applications for this fan....I'm hoping it was for at least 1970 L-78 AND Z-28

Chuck
Are you sure that's not a 7 bladed fan?
It's applications are as follows for a date of April 1970:
*All 8 Cyl cars w/A/C
*Camaro w/Sp-Hi-perf 350(LT-1)& 396(L78)

The 69 and 70 BB Novas came with a 5 blade fan, no clutch. The blades have a funny offset 2 one way and the other 3 grouped together. All the originals I have seen have the "W" stamp. The 772 fan was a clutch model used on BB Chevelles and Camaros and perhaps the HI-PO small block.

I can confirm this is a clutch fan, 5 blade - unique for 68Z and L78 Camaro. I have a picture i can attach (or send it) and it is also the same one shown on the CRG site ....shows the 4 rivots etc and the large center hole. Its also 17 inch. I'm sure some other ones may fit, but going for the correct application for the copo.
