Default Alex Irvine Chevrolet, Toronto

I have some information that Alex Irvine Motors, Scarborough, Ontario may have sold 2-3 COPO cars. Don't know of any myself.

Keith good to see you post!

I do have a question for you related to this subject. Has GM Canada ever just shared records with the public in regards to production numbers? Like could they tell you that X amount of COPO's were sold new in Canada? If they did all of these questions would be answered.

Hi Frank. With the information packages that we got, they just gave the number of that particular model that were sold. eg. 13437 or 13637. That just tells us the number of 300 Deluxe or Malibu V8 hardtops that were built. There was no breakdown of the options. . Check www.canamchevelles.com . I have scans of the GM info there. An acquaintance claimed to have information on 29 of thirty COPO Chevelles sent to Canada. Haven't seen the paperwork myself. Back in '69 I was told that there were 18 ordered, 5 cancelled and 13 shipped. Something doesn't jive as I think that there are possibly more than 13 around today.

Just to elaborate on Keith's above post, you will have a hard time finding his reference if you just go to our Club Website as he mentioned. He has a couple of documentation pictures loaded, but you have to go to our message board and then photos and then his album. Let's see if this link works

Keith
I see you live in Omemee, thats where I purchase my 1970 L78 chevelle from in 1982 from a person by the name of Ralph W. A lot of high performance cars came from that area.
I recently totally restored it to factory build sheet and called him
on his old phone number from 1982 and he still had the same phone number.Ralph asked me to sell him the car back!

Ralph, we met at the Barrie flea market a few years ago and last year at Haugen's. Your chevelle was dark gray when it was in Omemee I believe. Probably would have bought it myself had I known that it was for sale at the time.
