I sent an email asking about the car, and here is what I got as an e-mail back.
"I have started a transaction with the Safety Board in order for both of us to be safe, please e-mail me after you receive the mail from eBay, so we can deal further... You will make 1000 USD deposit before the shipping, after the car will be at your place you will have 5 days for inspection, after you have agreed with the car there you will make the full payment. The total price INCLUDING SHIPPING within US on this car will be 13,000.00 USD. Thank you! WILL WAIT FOR YOUR REPLY ASAP!" I then got this e-mail from eBay....check it out! "At the request of qtechmetals Safety Board an eBay Company is recording the transaction for Item : Chevrolet Camaro 1968 RS/SS -- Both the seller qtechmetals and the buyer iowariversoccer are protected and in case of fraud, Safety Board an eBay Company will cover up to 90% from the trade amount. After verifications we confirm the seller's contact formation. Also, we have verified the buyer's informations. This is needed in case something goes wrong. We will take full measures against persons that will brake the eBay's rules. Please continue with this deal as you are both fully insured against fraud. If something goes wrong, please email us and we will take the needed measures. We will recover the funds. However, in case this isn't possible we will pay back 90% from the specified amount. For this transaction the payment would be made via Pay Pal / Western Union (money order). Note for buyer : If you will use other payment options we DON'T inssure in case of fraud . IMPORTANT **Please do not respond to this email as your reply will not be received. Best Regards, Safety Board an eBay Company" SCAM PEOPLE!! This email did not come from eBay- like the grammar and spelling?! What a joke?! Do people really fall for this crap? ![]()

Ebay doesn't do stuff like that, PEOPLE do. Crooks do. I get plenty of unsolicated emails that have nothing to with EBay from people wanting to scam me, like the ol' "I'll pay you more than the car is being bought for so you can send money back", or "My uncle's niece's dog's nephew's third cousin twice removed from my fathers side has inherited a Kajillion dollars but I need your help in getting it out of my country that is the size of Chicogo's south side, so could you please send me your bank account, mother's maiden name, your first born, the name of your childhood pet, and $4000 so I can complete the transaction".
Just be smart about watching out for crooks. Otherwise, generalize and blame the whole internet for being another platform for creative scum to work with.
