True!
Brian has some old school pics of a sun yellow deuce with a big, clear, mailbox scoop on it, I'm thinking it's the same car. Notice the missing YENKO emblems. Rob Clary sent me a pic a few years ago of a sun yellow deuce, taken from the back. It too was missing the YENKO emblem on the trunk, that pic turned out to be Norman's car, and I'm thinking this one is too. Same yellow license plates!

I hate the 1970 Illinois License Plates. They just used the wrong colors that year,I feel.
Is that indeed Sunflower yellow? On my Screen it looks dark, like Code #53 Nugget Gold, released with the other "SPRING" colors January 15th,1970. |

Nope, it's sun yellow. Not sure if the plates are IL or WI maybe? Ron Norman's deuce was sold out of Thorstad, formerly Hults, but may have spent time in IL and/or IN. The key to all these pics is that this deuce doesn't have the YENKO emblems on it, not overly strange since they were just taped on.

Marlin,
That car looks amazingly similar to a car that was driven by a guy named Ron Byrd, that lived in McFarland, Wisconsin (just south of Madison). I haven't seen the car in probably 18 years, but it had the dual quad setup and no hood circa 1984 or so. (I had posted an inquiry about a 70 duece in the Madison area a while back with no luck). Would love to know where that car ended up. Blair

Sounds like the same car. It eventually went to Jim Parks, then a equipment company owner, then to Ron Norman. Sold new at Thorstad in Madison, WI. It's the only sun yellow car sold new in WI. There's the off chance it might have been the Marve Minneman car that Miller now owns, or a Fencl Tufo car that was eventually totalled in IN.

Woops! I was way off the ball there. . . it's not a dual purpose vehicle. . . it's probably just the dealer plate. A fever of 103* tends to make you a little loopy!
