Default Drive shaft stripes

I am detailing a 69 375 horse 4 speed Chevelle. How many and what color are the stripes on the driveshaft? Thank you in advance for the reply. Mike

Well Rick, I plan to do mine this winter as well so maybe you can help me if you know the info (hopefully others don't mind me jumping in here ). Also, where specifically do the stripes go? You probably know most of the stuff on mine, but here it is anyway:

- Atlanta.
- March, 1969.
- 4.10.
- M21

Thanks pal.

BTW - my STUFF arrived in Syracuse last week so you may get a present in a few weeks, will advise.

The Data I have indicates BY on the Prop shaft. My assumption is that your stripes should be Black/Yellow.

From some of the 1969 L78 M-21 or 22,with 3:55 or 4:10 rear Buildsheets I have from Various plants, they show driveshaft stripes of BU-Y.
I take that as Blue-Yellow,as Black is defined on other sheets as BLK,or BK.
When I see these cars still retaining there original stripes, they usually start around 20" past the front of the D/Shaft,(Some Drive shafts have two or even one color stripe and are applied at the Very end),and have 3 stripes, with the first color being repeated twice. In your case 2 Blue,1 Yellow.
I hope this Helps both of you.
Rick

The Chevelle was built in the Kansas City Plant June 69, Has an M-21 and a 4:10 rear. I assume that it should have Black and yellow stripes from the posts above. Are both stripes the same thickness. The reason I ask is that when I restored my old 71 Judge, the original stripes were still on the shaft. One red and two whites. The red one was about 1 inch thick and the 2 white stripes were roughly a 1/4 inch think and an eighth inch apart. Thanks for the info.
