Default Need some advice

I've seen this car that I like. The guy whos selling it says it has only 17k on it, And hasn't been restored and has owned it past 22years.

His put some performance parts on to the car, But otherwise its all stock.

It's been on sale for a while now, And his askin 24k for it.
I've looked around on eBay and other sites, And all the cars that are nice are going for 25-30k+, Some even more.

So it's got me thinking realy, Ive saved up long and hard to get atlesast 25-30k to my name, And I wouln't want to blow all that on my dream car, If its not going to be the real deal, If you get what i mean.

The cars also in Canada, I don't know but would that make a difference what so ever?!,

So if any one would be so kind enough to give me some tips, or any feedback what so ever I will be very greatfull.
Cheer
Nick

Nick...What do you plan to do with the car? Race it, cruise every now and then, daily driver? The roll cage in it would make me look at it a little harder. What has the owner used it for? I would guess race car. How much modification to the car to put the cage in? Professional work? Will he send you some very detailed pictures?

Guy says in his e mails,

i've owned it 22 years , it's an orginal 396/375 hp L78 m22 4speed car factory ordered SS , i've set it up for bracket racing or street cruise , rust free needs nothing just turn the key and drive 450 hp around town untill it runs out of fuel

the camaro is stock with a few bolt on performance items ie; fuel system, igntion system, exhaust system, lite wieght cowl induction hood ,turbo 400 auto transmission, i have the 4 speed cross member and clutch pedal linkage, steel stock ss big block hood with all hinges off the car.it's fully street legal here in canada with all saftey systems working. drives great!! it's the centre of attention everywhere i take it .

He says it is an original 396/375 hp 4 speed car but does not say it still has the original engine. Does he still have the 4 speed that came in the car? I would ask a lot of question and want lots of detailed pictures.

Tony this is just my 2 cents. The guys on this site come from many different backgrounds. Some have basically and open checkbook to buy, sell, trade, collect, etc. Others are like yourself and have saved long and hard to make just one purchase. If was gonna spend my life savings to buy the car of my dreams, I would have to see it in person and check all the #'s on the engine, trim tag, etc. There are a lot of nice cars for that price range that hasnt been modified to race. I think there are plenty of L78s out there that you don't need *this* one unless there's something about it we don't know about. To me, it looks like a regular L78.

The upside to the Canadian thing is that it's easy to get documentation stating it's a real L78 car.
