Default Gibb/Harrell driver

Have been doing some interesting reading. Frank Nickell, from nearby Doniphan, MO, dropped off his scrap book a couple of days ago for us to look at. Frank campaigned a '55 chevy for several years, before switching to Camaros. Frank set several AHRA records in his small block (350)powered Camaros. He was the one Fred, Herb and Dick asked advice of when preparing LIL Hoss. He remembers the car well, especially the intake. They told him that "if you will help us set the car up, we will not race it against you". In 1968, Frank switched to big block power and was the first to run a ZLX 427 engine. This was done in part with the help of Fred Gibb and Chevrolet. In 1969, Frank drove the #1 ZL-1 for Fred Gibb several times. He later moved to Laharpe, from O'Fallon, MO to drive the '70 1/2 Gibb Camaro (Kim's car?) for Fred. One of the interesting notes about Frank is he worked for Dick in St. Louis. This was in 1967, when they were converting Camaros for Yenko. I am in hopes that he will attend SCR6. Maybe a reunion for him and a couple of the cars he raced.

That is neat. Are there some interesting pics or articles to post from his scrap books?
