Hey everyone,
Is the 1970 open-element air cleaner base different for Holley carbs vs. Quadrajet carbs? The one I've got won't fit my Qjet, thinking it must be for a Holley. Thanks for any help. |

Scuncio, there is not any difference in the base of the open element air cleaners for the Holley or Q-jet. Now there is a difference in the bases from 69 and earlier to the 70 and up. When you say it does not fit what is happening? Do you still have the stock low rise intake and the air cleaner hits the valve covers? If that is the case then you may have the 69 and earlier air cleaner base and you can install the cowl induction air cleaner spacer between the carb and air cleaner base to gain clearance. Can you give some more details?...............RatPack.................

Hey RatPack,
The problem is the air cleaner neck is hanging up somewhere on the Q-jet linkage mechanisms so it won't sit flat on the air horn. Any idea what's going on? |
