Were there any Black 1969 Yenko Camaros made? I saw a picture of one that looked Black today, but I didn't think Yenkos came in Black. Thanks, Dan

The only way to get a black one would be one of the very rare Jack Douglas COPO/Yenkos. How's that for terminology Stefano? Works for ME.
You probably saw a picture of a Fathom Green car. They can easily be mistaken for black in some pictures. [Edited by sixtiesmuscle (10-29-2001 at 05:45 PM).] |

The answer is a bit complicated by the fact that other dealers sold COPO Camaros carrying Yenko stripes and ID. Jack Douglas Chev in Illinois did this and little is known about these "Yenkos".
None of the Camaros that were actually shipped to/from Yenkos' place of business in Pennsylvania were black. 10 were Olympic Gold; the rest Le Mans Blue, Hugger Orange, Daytona Yellow, Fathom Green or Rallye Green.

I prefer Douglas/Yenko,COPO,to describe the Yenko authorized cars sold by Douglas Chevrolet, as Yenkos.
