Yes. The ad says, "sidepipes can be removed for originality" but I don't see any reference to where the stock exhaust is. I assume its been stored and kept with the car but I don't see that in the ad.

Added pipes to a car like that?

The front fenders need to be cut and it appears as though there is glass work in the rear of the car to accommodate the correct side pipe filler panel. It's not irreversible, but an absolute sin for such an original and important car. Odds are it will always be detectable.

I remember seeing this car at the first Bloomington Gold show that I attended back in 1985. It was in the special collection and at the time it had the added factory side exhaust so the damage was probably done back then. That said, it's a very nice car.

----I had Tom's L-88 in my shop for a couple of days till he could get it picked up. I don't remember sidepipes. That would have been around 2006ish. I'm also sure Tom would have never added them....Bill S
