JR traction bars
I have a set of JR Traction bars
They are weld-on's for an "A" Body car. These are painted Red,White and Blue. They measure 32" from center line of axle to the front mounting bolts. Must be from the '70s They are 2x3 tubing and center line is at 7" from the inside edge of lower trailing arm mount, and must mount in the front to a forward Brkt. that I didn't get. As I remember, lower control arms are like 18-20" C to C My question is,they must have been used in conjunction with the lower control arm, so wouldn't that produce a bind situation? Any one out there got a JR Catalog? or remember these things. Thanks,Joe |

Re: JR traction bars
Not trying to hijack your thread Joe, but thought another different pair might help give a timeline as to when they were made since mine are the same colors as yours.
Suppose to be for '70 1/2 and up Camaro's. Never found any info out on them. Must be pretty scarce. - Warren |

Re: JR traction bars
Thanks guys,
Paul did you get pics I sent? They look to be of the same era as the ones posted by Warren. I looked up the address off the poster and it talks about the building being on the historical list as an old automobile company but no info about the JR Mfg. Cool reading thou. Also back in the day, 1975ish I had a set of JR '62-'67 Chevy II BB fenderwell headers and the 4" collector came down the back of the wheelwell then rolled back parallel With the ground for about 8" or so. Only set of those I have ever seen. Still would love to find a catalog Thanks Again,Joe |

Re: JR traction bars
I found this. Would it be the same company?
Not necessarily helpful, just history. http://www.maddogheaders.net/ "Mark “Mad Dog” Delcamp spent his first nine years in the header industry working for JR Headers from 1973 up until their purchase by Hedman Hedders in 1982. Mad Dog remained with Hedman for seven additional years before deciding to open Mad Dog Headers in 1989. A small business atmosphere and low overhead ensures each header built by Mad Dog has over 40 years of quality manufacturing experience behind it. "

Re: JR traction bars
Makes some sense. I've come up with the ad above being from 1973.
Joe, I didn't see any pics. I'll check spamp filters just in case. |
