A friend of mine's father has been battling with a condition that effects his memory and unfortunately while he was in rehabilitation his: 1969 Camaro Z28 VIN:124379N527836; and 1965 Corvette convertible VIN: 194675S105187, stored at his vacation home's garage in Cream Ridge NJ went missing. These cars have been in the garage since the late 1970's and the family does not visit the house frequently. In fact, it was only when the son was getting ready to sell the property that he realized the cars where missing from storage. After speaking to the neighbor who watched over the property, he said the cars where removed by a guy claiming to be the owners friend approximately (4 months ago). The guy who removed the cars from the garage picked them up told the neighbor he owned a tow yard in North Jersey and was friends of the owner. The father has no memory of where the cars are or who has them, the family still has both titles and has received no payments for the cars and is not looking to prosecute anyone, they just want the cars returned no questions asked. They have reached out to family friends in hopes of finding where the cars are being stored and which friend has them but they have had no such luck. They are not sure if someone is holding them for the father or if they have been taken at this point. The Corvette had a non-original big block in it and the Z28 was suppose to be matching numbers and had a set of long tube side pipes on it. Both cars where blue the Z28 had white stripes and was a Non cowl hood car. The family has asked me to reach out to the fellow car community and see if anyone has seen or heard anything. Thanks in advance for the help.

The family is optimistic about the cars being returned. They are still thinking who ever has the cars where doing the father a favor by storing them but no body has came forward yet. I have my fingers crossed for them but unfortunately in todays world you just never know. Last edited by Riverrat68; 01-04-2018 at 02:44 AM. |

Sorry to hear this. Did both cars leave at the same time on the same hauler or did they make two trips? Somebody has to remember seeing these cars going down the road.

Sounds really bizarre and bold. Were locks broken? Assume police involved? Post photos of cars. Is it maybe your friends father requested them moved and forgot?

If I was them, I would be in touch with the local Police department.

I would think this would be a deciding factor if they were indeed stolen or access was allowed. And did the hauler have ignition/door lock keys? |
