April 69 DZ 302 Block Wanted

Looking to date match a DZ Block for a Z/28 that I am restoring. I have the original crank, rods and pistons balanced up with a D9 dated NOM block but would prefer to find an original DZ stamped 010 block closer to the cars actual date of assembly which was the first week of May 69. From seeing some other original drive train cars built the same day/week, it would appear that a late cast 618 to early cast 010 block stamped V0425DZ to V0504DZ would match the car well, but know V0430DZ being the most desirable date stamp for this cars actual build day.

I would appreciate anyone with a late April to early May block contacting me if you have or know of a nice clean core that's available. Must have an original pad stamp with broach marks and would prefer a mag report on the core and cylinders. I am less concerned with its VIN stamping unless it's the one that actually matches my car? (In which case I'd really want it). The original block survived but was sold at a swap meet back in the mid to late 70's in the PNW. Hopefully it can be found someday?

Thanks Chuck. I found a car 3 VIN numbers of mine with it's original engine builf of V0430. I have an April 9th block at the moment, but ultimately I would like to find a late April block if one is available out there? Needle in the haystack but worth a try.

Car was shipped May 9th and from what I have been told it would likely have come down the line 2 days earlier than its ship date? I'm thinking the engine build would have to predate the assembly date in order for it to be technically correct date wise?

I can tell you a 0421 will be a 618. Just sold that block with my 69Z 04C.

I was told there was an overlap that started in April as newer 010 blocks started casting the same month as inventory of 618 blocks were being used up. I have seen May dated DZ builds using 618 blocks, and a few April builds using 010 blocks? I guess that overlap was prevalent depending how the rack rotation was handled throughout the month of April at the foundry and on the assembly plant floor. Info on CRG tends to support that as well.

I'd take either as long as the pad stamp is legit.

My 05A car has a vin of 9N639xxx. It is an 010 block, and is the earliest car I have found with an 010 block. It is with my engine builder is South Carolina. Don't hold me to the exact casting date, but I believe it is D249. There is a friend on the CRG that has a very good database on 05A cars. Check the for sale section, Tracker1 has an April dated complete engine for sale

Trackers block is too early for me by a couple weeks.

My car is 9N641XXX and would of been a few days behind your build with engine built April 30th to May 2nd or something along that window.
