What is correct for an 06a 69 z with open element air cleaner? Trying to go back to assembly line correct. Some insight on this would be great!

There are two good photos of this in vintage road tests.
PHR April '69 has photos of a very early production Van Nuys Z/28, final assembled on or about September 30, 1968. Has the square mesh element but the mesh is wrapped at a 45º angle. Road Test August '69 has photos of a Daytona Yellow/Yellow Hound's-tooth Z/28. The interior wasn't in production until late February '69 so the car can't be earlier than that. It has the diamond mesh element.

That is some good knowledge. Sounds like my car should probably just have the diamond mesh then for a late June car.
Thanks |
