Default REPOP MOLDINGS!!!

Is it just me or are have any of you also had problems with the fit and finish of repop moldings?!When I had my Nova I had a hard time putting on the side window moldings.Just put on hood moldings on my Camino...felt like they weren't going to fit...had to push and bend them into place. And is it ever cheap and flimsy metal.Nothing worse than spending a lot of money on parts and shipping and not being happy with the final look of the parts on the car.

You just described about 95% of the repop parts that are available. I can honestly say that at least 98% of the reproduction parts that I buy (which are few) need some kind of reworking to match originals. Every time I complain to the vendor I get the same, "you are the first to every complain about this" or "it's a reproduction, what do you expect?".

And if you spend the real big bucks on N.O.S.parts most of them have the old ''shelf wear''.

I don't have good luck with NOS from vendors. Its all straightened out bent parts. NOS from individuals has been better.

My 68 Z came with repop moldings on the rear wheel openings, they were on the wrong side so I switched them and then the right side wouldn't fit properly while the left did. I replaced them with NOS. Repops are POS!
