Default My latest Grand Prix...

Thought I'd share some photos of my newest '69 Grand Prix. I've known about this car for several years through some friends of mine in the Midwest. I've always been a sucker for these cars with the leather interior option. This GP was originally sold in Milford, Ohio and later became one the dealership owner's personal cars that he kept stored away for many years after it was traded back in by the original owner. It currently has 40K orig miles and is well optioned with the SJ package and 428-HO engine. The original invoice shows some hand written notes with the word "Demo" so I assume it was ordered as a demonstrator originally? I also received the original owner's service file for the car from the original selling dealership. It has an old lacquer repaint that was done many years ago and really could use a better quality repaint, but it looks good from 20 feet away. I'm thinking a set of G70-14 redlines would look really nice on the car someday.

Grant

----What, if anything, did Andy have to do with this beauty, Grant? 69 and 70 GP SJs with the leather option are my favorite Ponchos. Very rare and almost impossible to duplicate correctly. Few people realize that the leather option included cut pile carpet as well as actual leather sail panels. Very similar to the 70 up Corvettes with the leather option. I love my 69 saddle leather SJ. Wish it was an HO like yours, although I probably pushed the output beyond 390hp a bit.....Bill S

Thanks for the compliments! I had hoped I would get the chance to own it one day after I first saw photos of the car about 10 years ago.

Hi Bill... I do remember that Andy removed some tape pinstripes that were on the car when he bought it. Yes, I agree... love these leather interior cars. The molded sail panels are a nice touch, but I think they were '69 only? Your GP is a beauty, Bill... I remember Andy letting me drive it when I visited him in 2006.
