Wanting some opinions on a tire appearance... Tires are older Good Year Eagle ST Radials and in very good condition. Should I leave the black walls out or mount with the raised white letters showing.. They are 15" going on Chevy Rally Wheels on a 67 Impala Bolero Red and black top, black guts....
Thanks... Rich

X1000.....I am also a club member Unless the tire is a Goodyear Bias-Ply RAISED White.....everything else gets a black wall. Dan

An Impala is a bit more dignified, so I guess the blackwall look might suit it. However, if I have Goodyears with white letters I tend to run them, especially in sizes over 235/60/15. To me, big blackwalls start looking like Jeep mudders when they get bigger....... JMO

I think you will be happy with the black side out too.

I guess I am the odd man out.. Unless they are low profile.. White letter out on everything.. Heck even my daily 2000 S10 ZR2 with 33 x 10.50 I went WL out..

I too like RWL out. Just seems like when I see white walls or letters facing in I wonder why they didn't just get tires without them?
Did any cars come with white walls or rwl facing in from the factory? |

IMHO, black wall out...looks more correct for a 67 than any white letter. My favorite combo on the 67's are the full wheel covers and a white pins...elegant and classy.

IMHO it really depends on the car. A VW with RWL looks like warmed over dodo -- but a some late 60s early 70s muscle car with small letter RWL looks correct. TAZ

Personally I wouldn't put modern day radials on a '67.But if I had to,I'd go blackwall out.
I'd reeeeeeeeeally consider Redlines. |
