I believe the '0' refers to a 1970 build.

CE Chevrolet Engine
0 2 7819 1970 Feb. Sequence As sequence ends it starts again as CEA yr.mo. 0001 Have seen CEB & CEC Stampings. A Misuse of terms is CE "BLOCK" AS MOST CE's Were Engine assemblies known as. Partial Assembly "Short Blocks" or Engine Assembly "Long Block" Catalog items. Bare Block w Caps Fitted Block (Partial) (Fitted Pistons) Partial Engine Assembly. Block & Rotating assem. Engine Assembly "Long block assm." Most All L88 CE 's seen today were Complete engines - bolt-ons Most LS 7's were also sold as Complete Engine.

To Clear up a lot of Mis Use of. "CE"
NOT VERY MANY BARE BLOCK CE 's were Sold in Relation to the High Volume of Short Blocks and Long Blocks. CE Engines were common purchases And or Warranty replaced. Most warranty CE's were Short Blocks. Dealer Conversions to a bigger engine were either CE assemblies or short blocks. depending on what Finished result was needed. 396-375 to.427. upgraded with L72 CE short blocks. 350 to. 396/427. Was an Engine assembly.

Looks like a complete assembly was warrantied .......by the way these weren't shipped in a sequencial mode. .just randomly as needed by Dealers.... Some CE's & CT's were pulled off the line or inventory and restamped as designated to that specific assembly line car if an engine. or transmission issue arose.

Personally,
I feel a car with a correct CE. Engine specific for that car is far more valuable than a " numbers matching" transplant (but none born with) that is prevalent today. Meaning, a damaged engine was replaced under warranty or over the counter with a New replaced or today an NOS part.

I guess there is more to the CE numbers than I knew. I'm confused how these dates decode. Can you explain? I'm not sure when in November this block was cast but February is a stretch.
