Default The Ultimate Detail - Paint Correction '63 Vette

Hi All,

I wanted to share some photos of the artistry I witnessed first hand in contracting Anthony Onorato to detail a customer's '63 Corvette.

Purchased from the previous owner after achieving 4 NCRS Top Flight Awards the last being a National Top Flight @ 97.5%. Impressive feat. Spent two months plus chasing mechanical issues at New York's best mechanics shop (wPM me for info). The last work stream was to have the paint corrected by Anthony after I saw his work on another '63 coupe - a Daytona blue on red car. This car retains its original motor (327ci/340hp), trans (M20), and rear (4:11s) car with an original interior (sans carpet and headliner) and tags. Body is very close to virgin. Colors are Daytona Blue on Dark Blue. Handsome!

Very seldom does a vendor exceed your expectation on the very first experience but I cannot stop raving about the attention to detail, commitment, follow through, dedication, and now even the after sale process from Anthony. All class, worth every dime. It is not that I thought his talent would not surpass the condition, I really thought the car was too forgone for full correction.

If you've never seen the craftsmanship required to detail a car of this unfortunate condition - the precipice of paint correction - I encourage you to study the photos. The car had deep scratches, swirl marks, scuffs and DA marks throughout but complicating matters were the sensitive flowing curvatures of the top surround-to-fenders and split-window-deck-quarters area. Very tough to maneuver the polisher without further damaging areas. I pressured Anthony with an 6-7 hour window of time. He delivered. I am not financially vested in this thread and candidly have not told Anthony I was sharing this success story. He literally saved this car.

Hopefully other members appreciate craftsmanship at its true finest. Anthony is located in South Jersey but actively travels show casing his talent. http://www.anthonysautodetailing.com/

Regards,
Dan

Nice job. It's so refreshing to hear a "love story" once in a while instead of a "horror story" when it comes to body shops!

This car was painted about 5-7 yrs ago and not cared for in the best of ways. It was a pleasure dealing with Anthony. All business, very attentive, and dedicated to making this car right.

My only regret was not removing the emblems to detail below them... LOL...

Thanks Gents.
