Default 67 R Code Cyclone

Anyone know about this particular car? I have a friend that is contemplating taking the car on a Corvette trade. He asked me about it and I know nothing on authenticating it. It does have a Marti report and is presented as an original drivetrain. Care to offer what is may be worth?

Thanks,

Tim

Does it look today like in the bottom two pics? Being a Cyclone makes it rarer than the Fairlane.I would think its worth about the same as the 69 COPO Camaro.

Surprising the scoopy hoods were optional and not included w/ the R-code pkg.
Check this below Mecum 2013 link, it notes production at just 19 R-code '67 Cyclone hdtps and a decent expected estimate yet sold for only $47,000.

Neat cars, and hard to beat a Red Cyclone. I would love to own it. BUT. Despite rarity and the frustrated wails of their owners, Comets don't bring Fairlane money (R code or not), just like Firebirds don't bring Camaro money and Cougars don't bring Mustang money. I have been among the frustrated owners, but it doesn't change the cold facts.

If he's taking the car on trade and isn't in love with it, anything over $50K is probably a gamble, and he ought to have a Ford guy look it over. Is the block a real '67 block? Not so likely when you have to compete with Shelby Cobra owners and even their enthusiastic cloners. Date coded carbs? Correct Toploader?

Hard to believe that a race car would have its original drivetrain. Not sure these earlier FOMOCO engines had distinguishing marks linkin them to the car I.e. Convin.

I like it better in race trim.

I'm with Tom. I'd love to own it. About 6 years ago I met this fella that owns 7 R-code Fairlanes and Mercs. Each sucessive year I see them ,I fall harder and harder for these cars.

66/67 Fairlanes and Cyclones have always gotten the shaft when it comes to rarity equaling value.
