2013 Norwood Assembly Plant Reunion and Gathering

Here we go--the 2013 EXPANDED Norwood reunion/gathering will happen on July 12-13 2013 at the old GM plant site in Norwood, Ohio. The Host Hotel has plenty of rooms now at a special rate.

Friday July 12 Meet and Greet at the Hotel-display of cars all day.
Friday evening welcome meeting for invited participants and panel discussion with Norwood plant Managers, supervisors and assembly line personnel.

Saturday July 13 Reunion and Gathering of the Norwood Built cars at the GM covered parking deck.
Saturday Evening Cruise in at the old plant outdoor GM salary personnel Parking lot - hosted by Larosa's. This will be an open public event.

If you are interested in attending the Reunion/Gathering with your Norwood built car to display-- PM me here or send an E-mail to the address listed on the book website. To cover the costs of the event there will be a nominal fee for each car registered.

Grady and myself were very glad to have been a part of lasts years gathering, usual fun hanging out in the parking lot... Going to be a great event! It is a small event by design as participation is limited, keeping the ratio of car owners to former Norwood workers at a ratio of roughly 1 car owner to 10 or more former workers. The main event is held at the old GM factory site at Norwood in the Norwood parking garage which eliminates weather as a factor.

The plant used the same garage location for GM sales promotions for the employees when the plant operated.

The Friday Night welcome meeting will feature a movie compellation showing the plant in operation during the 1970's. Primary cars of interest include a 1970 Z28 during assembly at Fisher Body and SS-396 Camaro and Trans-AM 's on the final line over at Chevrolet Chassis.

The &quot;Meet the Makers&quot; Forum discussion Panel will be expanded to four tables this year and the Room PA system will be used. Two roving microphones will be used to gather questions from the car owners and gather answers from other retirees in the room not seated at the tables in the front.

Also each participant will receive a complete copy of the 1967 Camaro pilot production specification booklet. This will be the first public release of the car-by-car build data for each pilot built at both NOR and LOS.

Man, I wish I could add my name to the list, I really, really do! It's just not in the cards, calendar-wise. Should be a great event too......
