Default Help to identify this shifter part 1966 1967 Chev?

I got this with a 1966-1967 Chevelle powerglide console and shifter but it looks like it does not belong to the group.
Any of you guys know exactly what this part is for and for what?

part of a PG column shift linkage, between the frame and trans.
